The dominant UConn Huskies will battle the Purdue Boilermakers for March Madness National Championship glory. Two of the top teams in college basketball will lock horns for the right to etch their names in immortality. Bettors can capitalize with a huge number of intriguing props available for the climax of the March Madness tournament. "One Shining Moment" is on its way, but there's still one last college basketball game left to profit on.
Dive into my UConn vs Purdue same-game parlay:
NCAAB Same-Game Parlay: UConn vs Purdue
Matchup: UConn vs Purdue
Pick 1: Purdue +6.5 (-110)
Give me the Boilermakers at +6.5. Sportsbooks have made this line far too high for a National Championship game. As I wrote in our March Madness National Championship Expert Picks, Purdue holds a large advantage in three-point percentage (40.6% on the year) and total rebounding rate.
Matt Painter's squad can exploit those advantages while controlling the tempo against a UConn team that plays at one of the slowest paces in the nation. There will be plenty of possessions for Purdue to make up ground, as they boast a sparkling 37% offensive rebounding rate. They're also third in the country in free-throw attempt rate, which could be a crucial tactic for the Boilermakers. If they can get Donovan Clingan in foul trouble early, Zach Edey will feast. The battle of behemoths and Most Outstanding Player favorites on the block will decide the outcome in this one, and I like the Canadian to emerge victorious.
Purdue have covered the spread in every game of the big dance so far, I like the Boilermakers to go 6-0 ATS.
Pick 2: Over 145.5 Total Points (-115)
In a matchup between the top rated team in the nation in offensive efficiency, UConn and the third-rated team, Purdue, the OVER 145.5 is an easy play.
Purdue have averaged 79.7 points over their past ten contests, while UConn have put up 81.4 points. An offensive explosion is likely on Monday night.
Pick 3: Tristen Newton Under 15.5 Points (-114)
Tristen Newton has taken a back seat for the Huskies over the last two rounds. The point guard has played the role of distributor, rather than making things happen on his own. He's taken just 12 total shots over the past two games, while scoring 17 combined points against Illinois and Alabama.
Expect Newton to remain the floor general in UConn's motion offense, and rely on his teammates to score. Stephon Castle has taken on more of a scoring role as the tournament has progressed, with the freshman becoming more and more comfortable out there, while forward Alex Karaban has also thrived. Newton doesn't have the scoring chops of past Purdue foes DJ Horne or Dalton Knecht, and I can't see him surpassing the huge 15.5 point prop. Bet the UNDER 15.5 points as the last leg of our March Madness National Championship same-game parlay.
