Mike McDaniel's Miami Dolphins enter the 2024 NFL season looking to avenge their playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. The Dolphins uber-explosive offense took the league by storm last season, confounding even the greatest defensive minds in the sport. But, can Miami take the next step in 2024 and keep Hard Rock stadium shaking?
Odds Shark's 2024 Miami Dolphins season betting preview analyzes all the odds and finds the value in their NFL futures.
2024 Miami Dolphins Super Bowl & AFC Odds
Odds as of August 18
Miami's Super Bowl and AFC Championship odds are a little lower than expected due to the plethora of contending teams in a loaded AFC conference. At +2400 to win it all, the Dolphins offer solid value for bettors looking to back an ascending team with a ton of potential.
Explosive playmakers like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and De'Von Achane, along with a creative offensive mind in McDaniel gives Miami more than enough ammo to make a deep playoff run if everything clicks.
The Dolphins +220 odds to win the division make them the forgetten squad of the AFC East. The Bills and Jets both have much higher odds, but don't discount the Dolphins in the divisional race. Two late season matchups with the New York Jets could decide the fate of the East, and at their current +220 odds I'll sprinkle a half unit on Miami to come out on top.
2024 Miami Dolphins Win Total Odds
Odds as of August 18
The Dolphins finished 10-8 ATS last season, but were a phenomenal 6-3 ATS at home. However, be careful betting Miami as an underdog, they finished just 1-6 ATS as dogs in 2023.
Miami's win total is ambitious in an ever-competitive AFC. That being said, winnable contests against most of the AFC South, and the advantage of playing the lowly New England Patriots twice makes 10 wins attainable. At worst, if the Dolphins can split their division at 3-3 and win home games against the Jaguars, Titans and Cardinals, they'll be over half way to their total. Winnable road contests against the Seahawks, Rams and Browns gets them to nine wins. It's easy to envision this super charged offense doing much more damage than that in 2024.
2024 Miami Dolphins Playoff Odds
Odds as of August 18
The Dolphins have made the playoffs in two straight seasons under McDaniel. At -138 odds I like them to do so once again. Miami has far too much talent, and speed to miss out on the postseason. Our odds calculator says -138 odds implies a 57.98% chance of making the postseason, and while that's a little juiced for my liking, I think this is a winning bet.
Miami looks set to take their talents to the playoffs once again in 2024. South Beach will be rocking. Only this time, the Dolphins need to aim for the top seed in the conference, and the bye. Miami will want to play as many warm weather games as they can this season. As the 2023 playoffs showed, the Dolphins are far from their best in cold weather conditions.
2024 Miami Dolphins NFL MVP Odds
Odds as of August 18

Tua Tagovailoa was one of the NFL MVP favorites through the early part of last season. His career year consisted on an NFL-leading 4,624 yards, 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Yet, even those performances weren't enough to propel him to a top-10 MVP finish.
While he came up short of his 2,000 yard goal, Tyreek Hill enjoyed an unbelievably productive 2023. He reeled in 119 catches for 1,799 yards and 13 touchdowns in an eye-popping campaign. It's more likely than not Hill sees a least a slight statistical regression in 2024, which makes winning MVP a long shot.
I can't get behind either Tua or Tyreek to win NFL MVP at their current odds, but I do like the idea of playing Hill to win NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
