2024 WNBA Mock Draft: Who Follows After Caitlin Clark?

The 2024 WNBA Draft, consisting of three rounds and each featuring 12 picks, will hit our screens on April 15. Open to the public for the first time, the sold-out crowd will witness an elite draft class of ladies be selected.

Here is our 2024 WNBA mock draft:

Pick #1: Indiana Fever — Caitlin Clark (Iowa)

For the second-straight year, the Indiana Fever own the first overall pick. Last season, the Fever snagged South Carolina star Aliyah Boston — who cruised to being named Rookie Of The Year.

Now, there is absolutely no doubt that generational talent Caitlin Clark will be joining her. The Iowa Hawkeyes guard is drenched in accolades, including being the NCAA all-time point scorer and three-point scorer.

The Iowa native leads the nation averaging 31.9 PPG and 8.9 assists. She has recorded 35-points or more in nearly 40% of her outings in her senior season on route to hoisting her third Big Ten championship.

She has singlehandedly drew a demand for women's college basketball that will follow her to Indiana.

Pick #2: los angeles sparks — Cameron brink (Stanford)

With two of the first five picks, the Sparks will look for a new franchise-face as Nneka Ogwumike moves onto Seattle after more than a decade spent in Los Angeles.

Why not replace one Stanford Cardinal with another? Brink has been professional and focused since day one of her college career, joining Stanford on its championship run in her freshman year.

At 6-foot-4, Brink uses her strengths with 3.5 blocks (ranked first) and 12 rebounds per game (ranked third).

Pick #3: chicago sky — aaliyah edwards (UConn)

Perhaps a hot take but without Kahleah Copper, Chicago will need someone to make an immediate impact.

Edwards is a precise shooter, recording a 59.4FG% (ranked 16th) and posts 17.9 PPG. That is a consistent new lady for Elizabeth Williams, who led the Sky in rebounds for half of their schedule, to support.

Last year, 10 of Chicago's 22 losses were decided by 11-points or fewer. Selecting one of the draft's most reliable shooters could minimize those close calls.

Pick #4: los angeles sparks — kamilla cardoso (south Carolina)

Imagine Brink, who we've establish is a 6-foot-4 rebound machine, playing on the court alongside Cardoso, a 6-foot-7 destroyer. Not to mention, the Brazilian is fiery on the court. Helping the Gamecocks stay undefeated ahead of Women's March Madness, Cardoso is constantly intimidating opponents with her physicality.

Cardoso did not shy away from replacing Aliyah Boston and Zia Cooke in South Carolina. She has turned into a natural leader, averaging 14 PPG and sinking nearly 60% of her shots.

Pick #5: dallas wings — Rickea Jackson (Tennessee)

Jackson, who opted for a fifth season last year, will bring her extra experience and maturity to a team fresh off a semifinal finish. She's been credited on her restraint on the court, waiting for the perfect opportunity to attack the net.

Her last two seasons spent with Tennessee have improved her career. Her FG% is the best its been at 50.9%, she rarely misses crucial free throws (77.7%) and averages just under 20 PPG.

Even coach of the year, Dawn Staley bragged about her after a close-call in the SEC Semifinal.

“Top pick in the WNBA Draft without a doubt,” Staley said referring to Jackson. “This year really helped her on both sides of the basketball. She’s defending a lot more. She’s rebounding. I mean, she can score at will however you want it. She can score, and she did that to us.”
