2024 WNBA MVP Odds & Picks: Don’t Snub A’ja Again!

Las Vegas' A'ja Wilson is a heavy -3000 betting favorite to win her third WNBA MVP Award. After a popular opinion of being snubbed for the women's basketball award last year, Wilson has returned to the court with a vengeance, leading the league in points and dominating the 2023 WNBA MVP odds.

A'ja Wilson Favored To Win WNBA MVP in 2024

The basketball world wasn't hesitant to share their opinions on Wilson, who finished third in voting, being slighted of last season's MVP Award.

En route to leading her Aces to back-to-back championships, Wilson averaged 22.8 PPG. That was the third-best mark in the league and with her playing at least four minutes less than Breanna Stewart (23 PPG) and Jewell Loyd (24.7 PPG) who sat above her.

Averaging a league-high in 27.2 PPG (insane), 11.9 REB and 2.9 blocks, Wilson has already soared to the top of the league standings. The South Carolina product has averaged at least 21 points in all by two games this season, including posting 27 points or more in 17 of her 24 appearances.

She has easily become the face of a dynasty that lives within the walls of Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas. If the award lands in her hands, she'll become the fourth player in history to earn three MVP titles.

wNBA MVP value pick: Sabrina Ionescu (+7500)

Opening as a +15000 contender, Ionescu's strong July performance has surged her odds to +7500. When top point-scorer, Breanna Stewart, went down ahead of the All-Star break, most thought the Liberty would have a tough time managing the loss.

Wrong.

Ionescu pocketed 58 points across the two meetings without Stewie. Already averaging an elite 19.4 PPG to sit sixth in the league, the Oregon product has dropped 23.1 PPG in July. When New York needed her to step up, she did. The definition of value, Ionescu is making a serious case for herself as an MVP contender.

How To Read WNBA MVP Odds

At an online sportsbook that would list WNBA MVP odds, they would look similar to this:

  • A’ja Wilson -200
  • Breanna Stewart +200
  • Kelsey Plum +1400

The minus sign (-) indicates who the odds consider the favorite. In this case, it’s the Las Vegas Aces’ A’ja Wilson at -200. Every other player who’s listed is considered an underdog.

If you believe Wilson will win the WNBA MVP and you bet $100 and it happens, you would win $150 – your $100 is returned and you would gain $50 in profit.
