The Denver Broncos opened up as a 3-point road favorite over the Las Vegas Raiders in a Week 12 contest in Vegas. The Over/Under total opened at 41.5. After watching Denver blowout Atlanta, the line jumped up a point and a half to the Broncos -5.5, and the total held steady at 41.5.
We do have some recent history for this AFC West rivalry from this season in Week 5. The Broncos (-3) hosted Vegas in the Mile High city and smoked the Raiders 34-18. The Over/Under was listed at 36.5 and went WAY high.
Looking ahead, the Broncos come back home to Denver for a Monday night date with the Browns, while the Raiders are leaving Las Vegas for a Friday night game at Kansas City.

Before the season started, got a call from one of my main guys, the Cowboy, a life long Denver guy, and he was JACKED about the Broncos. He was like, "Yo Benj the Broncs are gonna be fire with Bo Nix and I'm gonna drop a Hundy on 'em to win the Super Bowl." So apparently, he wants give his money away. Instead, I suggested an OVER bet on total wins, which opened at 5.5. The Cowboy still bought a Super Bowl ticket, which AIN'T gonna happen, but we both cashed the OVER on their win total after Denver's W over the Falcons.
One of the reasons that we were a bit skeptical about the Broncos coming into the season was the fact that Sean Payton was giving rookie Bo Nix the keys to the car. We loved Nix in his last two years at Oregon, but the concern was, would it translate to the NFL. Bo was RIDONKULOUS with the Ducks, completing passes at a 74% clip. And even though he didn't win the Heisman, his numbers were off the chain last year. He hit on 364 of 470 (77.4%) for 4,508 yards with 45 freakin' TDs and only 3 INTs. And he still only came third in the Heisman Trophy voting behind Jayden Daniels and Michael Penix — neither guy had a better TD/INT ratio than Nix.
And we can tell you that it looks like his transition to the NFL is coming along just fine. Denver is sitting at 6-5, but Bo is humming. And last week was ENORMOUS. He shredded the Atlanta defense, completing 28 of 33, which my calculator tells me is 84.9%, for 307 yards with FOUR TDs and ZERO INTs. In his game against the Raiders, Nix was on the money, hitting 19 of 27 (70.4%) for 206 yards, with 2 TDs and 0 INTs. So, Bo KNOWS!
The other arm, the Mustache, Gardner Minshew, is struggling and if it wasn't for TE Brock Bowers and his 13 grabs, the offense would be nonexistent. Why? They have NO running game. Vegas was able to put up only 60 rushing yards against the Dolphins last week, 60 against the Bengals in the game before the bye week and ONLY 33 yards against the Chiefs the week before that. You get the picture. And if they double Bowers, it'll be a long afternoon on the Vegas Strip for the Silver & Black.
If you're looking at Denver's last two road games, a 16-14 loss at Kansas City and a 41-10 ugly at Baltimore, those teams are obviously the cream of the NFL crop. Against the Sisters of the Poor, like the Panthers, the Jets, the Saints, Bucs and Vegas, the Broncs are riding a 5-0 win streak. So gimme Denver for the money.
