Cardinals vs Dolphins Odds & Picks Week 8: Trust the Cardinals as Road Dogs

Kyler Murray's Arizona Cardinals visit the Miami Dolphins in Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season. The Cardinals will aim to keep the momentum going after squeaking by the Chargers 17-15 on Monday Night Football. While the Dolphins enter off of a disappointing 16-10 loss in Indianapolis.

Cardinals vs Dolphins Week 8 Picks

After missing four games with a concussion, reports state that Dolphins starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa will return to the field in Week 8. The former Alabama star will return to practice on Wednesday, with Miami officials saying "if all goes well" he'll play on Sunday. However, with Tua's extensive concussion history, the Dolphins may choose to play it safe and hold him out an extra week. Even if he does take to the field, is he fully recovered?

The Dolphins desperately need him to play, after the combination of Skylar Thompson, Tyler Huntley and Tim Boyle have stunk it up under center over the past month. In fact, Miami has scored just 10 points per game since Tagovailoa was hurt against the Bills. Huntley himself was forced out of last week's contest with a shoulder injury. Without a reliable quarterback under center, Tyreek Hill has averaged just 35 receiving yards a game, and Jaylen Waddle has been non-existent. Starting safety Jevon Holland will also likely miss his second straight contest after breaking his hand in Week 5.

On the other side, the Cardinals defense looked strong against the Chargers on Monday night. Additionally, Kyler Murray rescued an otherwise moribund night with a 44-yard third quarter touchdown scamper. James Conner remains a stalwart running back, with the ability to churn out tough yards on the ground all night.

It's also important to note, the Miami Dolphins are just 1-8 against the spread in their last nine games. Miami will likely need a couple weeks to get their offense rolling, while the Cardinals have played possible playoff-bound opponents in each of the past three weeks and come away with two victories. I'm putting my trust in Kyler and the Cardinals to come out on top at Hard Rock Stadium.

Cardinals vs Dolphins Week 8 Props

Michael Wilson Over 30.5 Rec Yards

Michael Wilson has quietly seen at least four targets in four of his past five games. He's gone over this total in four of seven this season and I like him to have a big day as the Dolphis defense focuses on shutting down Marvin Harrison Jr. and Trey McBride. Miami's corner Kader Kahou being out only helps his cause.
