College Football Upsets Of The Week: Underdog Picks For Week 12

My college football upsets of the week looks at a pair bets featuring Tennessee (+290) defeating Georgia in an SEC showdown. Then, I call Nebraska (+9.5) to end its losing streak with a visit to USC.

In the college football betting world, there's no better feeling than cashing out on an underdog upset and raking in all that profit — and hey, I don't seem to be too bad at it.

College Football Upsets of the week

Here are my upset picks for Week 12:

Underdog Pick #1: tennessee (+290) vs georgia

Call me crazy, but I'm liking Tennessee here. We've watched Georgia unusually falter more than once this season and there's no doubt last week's loss to Ole Miss is still stinging. Carson Beck has looked extremely shaky, throwing 12 interceptions this season, which is more than he's thrown his entire college career. Then, star running back Trevor Etienne will likely be limited, or even sidelined, with a rib injury he has tried to play through but just can't.

Missing 477 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground attack and being led by an unsteady quarterback doesn't bode well for the 'Dawgs. Especially as Kirby Smart gears up to host Tennessee's explosive offense, averaging 440.8 yards per game.

Underdog Pick #2: Nebraska (+9.5) vs USC

Looking for its first bowl game since 2016, Nebraska is eager to snap a three-game skid that has interrupted its chances. Prior to the string of losses, the Cornhuskers started the season winning five of their first six meetings. But a tough schedule featuring the undefeated Indiana Hoosiers and Ohio State Buckeyes in the latter half of the season was too hard to overcome.

Thankfully, USC (4-5 SU, 5-4 ATS) is more of an even level playing field. The Trojans have lost four of their last five and have been desolate since Caleb Williams left the program. Nebraska's defense allows 309.2 YPG, solid enough to sit just out the nation's top 10. That force should be enough to limit USC's naive offense.

What Is A College Football Upset Pick?

A college football upset pick or a college football underdog pick is a wager on an NCAA football squad that is not expected to win, according to the odds. This means that the team is “plus money” or you’ll get a bigger payout if they do win, instead of a classic favorite.
