Commanders vs Buccaneers Odds & Picks Week 1: Let Daniels Loose

Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders meet Baker Mayfield and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1 NFL action. The Commanders enter as 3.5 point underdogs with the total set at 43.5 as this contest kicks off from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay.

Take a peek at all the Commanders vs Buccaneers odds, and my best bets with a sweet same-game parlay below.

Commanders vs Buccaneers Odds Week 1

As of September 5 at FanDuel

Commanders vs Buccaneers Picks Week 1

Over 43.5 -110

This total is set a little too low in my eyes. While each of these teams have their warts, they're both arguably far more talented on the offensive side of the football.

Each team lost talented cornerbacks this off-season, and both drafted and signed players to boost the play of their offensive lines. Pair that with the dynamic skills of Daniels under center, and Baker Mayfield's stellar play and we have the makings of a shootout.

Todd Bowle's man blitz schemes should allow Daniels the opportunity to get outside of the pocket and wreak havoc. Plus, the presence of Mike Evans and a healthy Chris Godwin makes the Buccaneers offense dangerous. I really like the Commanders vs Buccaneers OVER 43.5 points in Week 1.

Commanders vs Buccaneers Same-Game Parlay +447

Jayden Daniels 225+ Passing Yards +102, Mike Evans Anytime Touchdown +110, Terry McLaurin OVER 60.5 Receiving Yards -114

With the Commanders lack of defensive talent, Jayden Daniels will be throwing the football a ton this season. The 2023 Heisman Trophy winner lit up SEC defenses to the tune of 3812 yards and 40 touchdowns last season. He likely won't reach those heights right away in the NFL, but 225 yards is a low bench mark in the modern NFL. He can even clean this up with some garbage time yards.

Mike Evans led the league with 13 receiving touchdowns last season and I love the idea of backing him to find the endzone in Week 1. He's scored a touchdown in his teams' first game in two consecutive seasons and is more than capable of destroying an outmatched Washington secondary. Look for Evans to find the endzone at least once on Sunday.

"Scary" Terry McLaurin has been a model of consistency, with four straight 1,000 yard seasons despite an obvious lack of talent around him. McLaurin is far and away Daniels' top target and he should feast on an undermanned Bucs secondary. Remember, Tampa Bay lost Carlton Davis during the off-season, so expect to see Jamel Dean one on one with McLaurin. I like the former Ohio State man to win that matchup.
