Formula 1 returns to to the streets of Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday June 9, 2024. Circuit Gilles Villeneuve once again houses the F1 action. This thrilling track is often described as a “permanent street circuit” thanks to its tight corners and walls, which is why drivers welcome the challenge of racing in Canada.
Red Bull’s Max Verstappen is the favorite to win the Grand Prix, followed by McLaren's Lando Norris and Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in the latest F1 Canadian Grand Prix odds.

Odds as of June 3
Max Verstappen The Favorite at the 2024 F1 Canadian Grand Prix
As usual, Max Verstappen finds himself as the overwhelming favorite to pop the champagne at the F1 Canadian Grand Prix. With his lead atop the F1 Championship dwindling, Verstappen will aim for his sixth Formula 1 victory this season.
The Dutchman has won the Canadian Grand Prix in each of the past two years, and a third victory could very well be the key to securing Red Bull's hold atop the F1 standings.
Max dominated both qualifying and the race last year. Finishing a full two seconds ahead of Nico Hulkenberg for pole position, and defeating Fernando Alonso by 9.5 seconds to secure victory.
However, Red Bull's car hasn't been nearly as dominant as last season. Five drivers finished ahead of Verstappen in qualifying in Monaco, and the team will be desperate to ensure that was an aberration. That being said, it's important to remember – Verstappen has been in pole position in every other race this season. It's also important to note, the last time Max lost a race in North America was 2019. Plus, we're getting a discount on Max at -135 odds to win qualifying. I also love the odds at +250 on Verstappen to set the fastest lap and win the race.
Look for Verstappen to solidify his perch on the Formula 1 throne in Canada.
2024 F1 Canadian Grand Prix Best Bet: Max Verstappen to win qualifying (-135), Verstappen fastest lap and to win race (+250)
Canadian Grand Prix Race Technicals
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve has been one of F1’s most beloved tracks since it became a mainstay in the 1970s. The track is a reflection of the legendary F1 driver it is named after, with high-speed straights, tight corners and menacingly close walls.
The track is best known for the wall on the outside of the exit of the final chicane before the start-finish straight, which has been christened “The Wall of Champions” after numerous world champions have struck the wall at some point.
A ton of overtaking typically takes place during and after turn 10 at Ile Notre-Dame, which is one of the few corners in the F1 calendar that requires full steering wheel lock. The corner precedes the longest straight of the track, so a good exit could well mean an overtake on the main straight.
