LIV Golf returns to the golf course this week as players prepare for the first major championship of the season. 2024 LIV Golf Miami will serve as the final tune up for the competitors on the 54-hole circuit as they travel to Trump National Doral for yet another season.
Formerly a venue which hosted its team championship, Trump National Doral will now crown an individual winner and has long been around. One of the more difficult golf courses on the professional stage, Trump National Doral has seen winners like Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed come through.
The golf course has catered to some former Masters champions which will be music to the ear of betting favorite Jon Rahm at +700. Still without a win on LIV Golf, Rahm has been close in his short career with four top 10s in four career starts.
LIV Golf Miami Odds
Odds as of April 2
The main reason Rahm has been unable to navigate his way into the winner’s circle is Joaquin Niemann at +800. The young Chilean has four wins in his last eight starts dating back to the end of last year including a pair on LIV Golf. Niemann has become one of the best players in the world and looks to continue his dominance on this stage.
Bryson DeChambeau is beginning to find some form; Dustin Johnson is peeking his head with a win under his belt already at LIV Golf Las Vegas and Brooks Koepka has one eye on the Masters. The five-time major champion won this tournament last season when it was held in Orlando the week before the year’s first major championship.
Hoping to play himself into the Masters with a win again, Koepka has eyes on capturing another leg of the career grand slam. Cameron Smith, Tyrrell Hatton, Patrick Reed, and others make up those players who will try to put their best foot forward this week before making the march to the Masters next week.
2024 LIV Golf Miami Betting Picks
Dustin Johnson To Win (+1400): Johnson’s success at Doral from 2009-16 cannot be understated. A winner at this golf course in 2015, Johnson also added a runner-up finish in 2011, a top five in 2014 and a pair of top 15s in 2013 and 2016.
He comes into this week riding a small wave of form. Beginning his year with a top-five finish in Mayakoba, Johnson went onto win the second LIV Golf event in Las Vegas for yet another title on this circuit. He has since gained strokes on the field in Jeddah and Hong Kong and appears primed to adding another trophy to his mantle.
Paul Casey To Win (+2800): The Englishman is beginning to find his name on the first page of the leaderboard with some consistency.
Casey has been great on LIV Golf this year with a T-11 at Mayakoba, T-5 in Las Vegas and a playoff loss to Abraham Ancer in Hong Kong. He has since gone onto play on the DP World Tour where he finished solo sixth in Singapore. Always reliable at Doral as well, Casey has notched five top 20s at this golf course throughout his career including a solo seventh the last time a stroke-play event was held.
Patrick Reed To Win (+4000): Like Johnson, Reed is a former individual winner at Trump National Doral winning a trophy around these parts in 2014.
A gritty competitor, the 2018 Masters champion looks close to finding his major form. He has been great on the Asian Tour in recent starts with three top 15s in three tries including a solo fourth in Macau a couple weeks ago. This has yet to translate to LIV Golf, but expect that to end sooner rather than later in a big way.
