My MLB player prop picks are ready for some double-barreled playoff action, starting in the AL, where the Junior Circuit's best hitter is waking up. Then, I'll gun for some plus-money pitching magic in the NLCS.
Here are my two MLB player prop picks today with breakdowns:
MLB Player Prop Pick Today: Aaron Judge To Hit A Home Run (+290)
I think this is the perfect time to bet a Judge homer. He went deep in Game 2, and his numbers vs Guards starter Matt Boyd are quite juicy. Judge is 2-for-6 with a homer, five walks, and no strikeouts. No strikeouts for Judge! That's a mighty good matchup split.
Cleveland's Progressive Field represents a much taller task than the cozy confines of Yankee Stadium, but with this New York offense heating up, I can see Judge getting a hold of one early. And even if Judge can't get to Boyd, he's got strong numbers off relievers like Hunter Gaddis, who he took deep in Game 2, and Eli Morgan, who has yielded two homers to Judge already in his career.
MLB Player Prop Pick Today: Yoshinobu Yamamoto OVER 13.5 Total Outs (+100)
I get that it's a postseason game, where pitchers get a shorter leash, but this total strikes me as too low, especially after Yamamoto shoved in Game 5 of the NLDS. We're also talking about Game 4 of a best-of-seven series, meaning this could be a good opportunity for the Dodgers to let the rookie cook and rest the 'pen.
Either way, Yamamoto is primed for success. He's pitching with confidence, and the Mets lineup owns a sub-.700 OPS against him. Francisco Lindor, for example, is hitless against Yamamoto, and neutralizing him for two straight games would be a big win for this Dodgers staff.
Yamamoto cashed this OVER in 14 of 20 starts during the regular season, and all he needs is 4.2 IP for another successful prop bet in Game 4 of the NLCS.
