MLS Expert Picks Matchday 19: Montreal and Salt Lake Easily Hit OVER

Ready for another weekend of MLS soccer? Good because I am and I've got you covered with two expert picks on Matchday 19. My record this year isn't great at 7-16 and -8.55 units. But here's to turning that record around ASAP.

MLS Expert Picks: Matchday 19

Toronto vs Chicago

Pick: Chicago Fire (+270)

I know the Fire have yet to win on the road this year but that has to change at some point. Why not now? Chicago has started to turn things around with a 1-2-0 run against good teams like DC United, Orlando and the LA Galaxy. It might be more than a coincidence that this change in form took place with Xherdan Shaqiri gone.  A tactical change to a 5-3-2 system is paying dividends for the Fire.

And while TFC are good at home, they've hit a bit of a snag going 1-2-3 in their last six. They'll also be without star Federico Bernardeschi who picked up a red in the last game. The Italian leads TFC with 11 goal contributions (7 goals and 4 assists).

Montreal vs Real Salt Lake

Pick: OVER 2.5 (-175)

We've seen OVER 2.5 goals hit in six of Real Salt Lake's last nine games (67%). For Montreal, we've seen the total go OVER 2.5 goals six times in their last seven games (86%).

And I think Real can hit the OVER here all on their own. Montreal has given up a ridiculous number of goals lately with an average of 2.7 per game. Their bad defense alone sees the total go OVER.

Then you consider the potency of the offense on the other end of the pitch with RSL having the second-most goals in the league and scoring 2.8 goals per game over their last nine.
