How To Read College Basketball Standings & Betting Records
Standings on most mainstream sports sites will paint a pretty standard picture of the NCAAB — wins, losses and divisional rankings. What they're not accounting for is that teams don't have to hold a pretty record to be a bet-worthy squad. Our standings chart has each team's overall record, but we supplement that with in-depth ATS standings.
ATS Records and Trends
Our standings page shows each team's against-the-spread (ATS) and OVER/UNDER records, as well as potential streaks for those situations. By selecting relevant and specific data, you can find an edge in an underdog or back up your research on a favorite.
The first chart on the page are ATS standings, a record of a team's performance when compared to the spread for that specific game. As mentioned above, it doesn't matter if the Louisville Cardinals finish the season 4-28 if they're covering the spread or reliably hitting OVER/UNDER lines. There's massive value in teams that are usually overlooked thanks to their so-so performance across the college tour.
We break each team's ATS records and standings at home versus the road — you’ll also be able to see how teams fare as favorites and underdogs and what current winning or losing streak each team is on.
NCAAB Standings
Our second chart is a bit simpler. It charts the wins and losses of each team while they're at home or on the road, as well as their total win percentage. We give you the rundown on how they fare against divisional opponents or on a neutral playing field — these can be one-off contests, invitational tournaments, or a series that's played out of town for each team.
