What Are NFL Conference Championship Futures?
Winning the Conference Championship punches a ticket directly to the Super Bowl, so there's clearly a lot at stake for which team emerges. Unlike betting for the winner of a specific division, bettors wager on which side they believe will prevail amongst the pack of 16 total teams.
In the case of the National Football Conference, its only provided two of the last six Super Bowl victors and three of the last 10.
NFC Championship Odds
The NFC is comprised of four divisions in the East (Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Commanders), North (Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, and Chicago Bears), South (Tampa Bay Buccaneers, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons, and Carolina Panthers), and West (San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and Arizona Cardinals).
NFC Championship Best Bet: Detroit Lions +185
Jared Goff is a top-five NFL quarterback. He's on an absolute heater, as Lions offense has more touchdowns over the last 4 games (18), than Goff has incompletions (16). Despite playing the Vikings top rated defense in Week 7, Goff went off for 280 yards and two touchdowns. Coordinator Ben Johnson's unit looks unstoppable at the moment. Making the Lions a behemoth. Detroit followed that up with a 52-point outing against the Tennessee Titans in Week 8. Detroit's offense now has more touchdowns (28), then incompletions (24) over the past five weeks.
Somehow, someway, the Lions overcame five Jared Goff interceptions to win on SNF against the Texans in Week 10. Detroit has gotten out to a 8-1 start and look like one of the most consistent teams on both sides of the football. This could be the year Jared Goff and company finally take the next step and reach a Super Bowl.
NFC Championship Value Bet: Green Bay Packers +1000
Now that Jordan Love is relatively healthy, the Packers are back in contention.
Love has been turnover-prone since his return. But, his ability to create explosive plays gives the Packers massive upside as the season rolls along. Matt Lafleur's elite rushing scheme can also grind out the yards and take the pressure of their quarterback.
On top of that, Green Bay's opportunistic defense leads the league in takeaways. The Packers are a team to watch as we move into the second-half of the season. Green Bay was 2-5 at this time last year and were a couple of plays away from an NFC Championship game appearance. They're now 6-3 and finding ways to defeat contenders like the Texans.
