The Atlanta Falcons opened up as a -1 point favorite over the New Orleans Saints in a Week 4 contest with the Over/Under in this game set at 43.5. A few pennies trickled in on the Falcons and the line has ticked up to -1.5. However, there has been a pretty big flow of cash on the total, which opened at 46.5 and has been bet all the way down to 43.5.

Since both of these teams play in the NFC South, we get to look at numbers from two games each season. In the first 2023 matchup, the Falcons (+2) posted a 24-15 win at home and the total went UNDER 41.5. The rematch in New Orleans had the Saints (-3) blowing away the Falcons 48-17. The total was listed at 41.5 and obviously went high. 

And if you like the look ahead angle, Atlanta will host Tampa Bay at home on Thursday night while New Orleans travels to Kansas City for a Monday night affair.

First thing that comes to mind is ANGRY! And it's emanating from the Falcons locker room. Atlanta was locked in a tight battle with Kansas City in the late Sunday night game and got HOSED! ROBBED! FLEECED! You pick the word. 

Kirk Cousins took the snap from the six yard line and threw toward Kyle Pitts in the end zone. He was defended, some say MAULED, by Kaycee safety Bryan Cook. Not only did Cook have his back to Cousins, his arm was CLEARLY wrapped around the waist of Pitts.

I watched Herm Edwards after the game, a well respected former coach, and he could not believe that the refs didn't throw a flag. Apparently, the Chiefs had another GENEROUS call against the Bengals last week, and people are starting to wonder, what's up. A PI in that spot woulda given the Falcs four more downs from the 3 yard line and probably a 2-1 record instead of 1-2.

Now the GINORMOUS problems on the Atlanta offensive line. In my book, the center is the second most important position on offense. Atlanta's C Drew Dalman went down with an injury in the 2nd Q, as did RT Kaleb McGary, and the backups DID NOT have any fun the rest of the game. From that moment, Captain Kirk was sacked twice, hit 10 times and running for his life the rest of the game. But he aquitted himself just fine hitting on 20-of-29 for 230 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT.

Please check on the status of these beefy guys, especially Dalman, before you open the wallet. Cousins is a veteran who has seen almost everything in his career, but if he is missing two key pieces on the O-line, that spells trouble in the ATL.

Kinda crazy Jekyll and Hyde stuff when it comes to the Saints offense. They rocked the Panthers in Week 1 scoring 47 points, then pummeled the Cowboys in Week 2 scoring 44 points. Then they only manage a dozen against the Eagles. What?

New Orleans QB Derek Carr was RIDONKULOUS in the opener against the Panthers, completing 19-of-23 for 200 yards and 3 TDs. Then he went 11-of-16 against Dallas for 243 yards, but was just 14-of-25 for 142 yards vs. Philly.

Which version Carr will be driving the New Orleans offense? Before we open the wallet, the status of Atlanta C Dalman is critical to my handicap. If he is out, we would tickle the Saints, but if he is snapping to Captain Kirk, gonna fly with the Falcons.
