SEC Basketball Conference Tournament Odds: Auburn Favored over Florida

As one of the closest conference races in college basketball, it's no surprise the SEC Tournament has been full of major upsets.

The Florida Gators took down Texas A&M on Saturday to reach the SEC Tournament Final. Todd Golden's team plays with a ton of pace, and have gotten hot from beyond the arc at the opportune moment. Florida knocked down 12 treys to send the Aggies packing, but will have a tough time replicating that in the SEC Tournament Championship game on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Auburn Tigers were in tough against Mississippi State, pulling away late to eek out a 73-66 victory. As one of the most efficient two-way teams in the country, the Tigers remain favorites to win the SEC. Auburn are undoubtedly a National Championship contender.

Auburn finished the regular season on a three-game win streak before smacking South Carolina in their SEC Conference Tournament debut. The Tigers are sit fourth in Haslametrics efficiency rankings, making them a worthy successor to the rivals Vols at the top of the odds board.

Auburn explosive offense racks up an incredible 123 points per 100 possessions, good for ninth in the nation. However, their defense is just as impressive, holding opponents to just 93 points per 100, and only 38% shooting from the field. Behind the skills of star forward Johni Broome, the Tigers are a National Championship threat in their own right, and an intriguing play to win the SEC Tournament at plus money.

John Calipari's Kentucky Wildcats have had a stranglehold over the SEC in recent times. Over the last 10 years, Kentucky has won the conference’s tournament crown four times, in consecutive order. The Wildcats own the most SEC tournament championships all-time with 32. However, Calipari has failed to put together a conference champion run since 2019.

Alabama dominated last season behind the skills of superstar Brandon Miller, taking both both the SEC regular season and tournament titles.
