Super Bowl Odds 2025: Lions On Top, Steelers Rise

Let's break down some 2025 Super Bowl odds with the NFL regular season in full swing.

The Detroit Lions are the new leaders in the clubhouse. After the Chiefs fell to the Bills in Week 11, the Lions' easy win over the Jaguars catapulted them into the top spot on odds boards. The Lions have the shortest odds (+425) to win it all and the Chiefs have the second shortest odds (+475).

The Lions have the highest ticket % (16.1%) and handle % (17.9%) to win the Super Bowl per BetMGM, with the Chiefs owning the second highest ticket (12.9%) and handle (14.6%) percentage. The Ravens are third with 8.1% of Super Bowl tickets and 10.6% of the Super Bowl handle.

Here's a complete breakdown of updated 2025 Super Bowl odds and some value picks:

Who Is Favored To Win Super Bowl 59?

The Detroit Lions (+425) remain in the top spots for Super Bowl 59 odds, and the Kansas City Chiefs are lurking right behind them at +475. The Bills (+600) and Ravens (+650) are lurking just behind them.

Super Bowl Odds Movement

A variety of things can cause Super Bowl odds movement, including injuries, team performance, or transactions. If you look at 2025 Super Bowl odds now, you'll see movement for teams like the Commanders and Bengals:

Rising: Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh has picked up back-to-back wins vs. playoff teams and has gone from +3300 two weeks ago to +2500 last week and now +2200 this week.

The Steelers are scorching hot and riding a five-game winning streak. Pittsburgh is 4-0 since letting Russell Wilson cook and the Steelers defense has held opponents to less than 20 points in four out of their last five games.

The Steelers made trades for Mike Williams and Preston Smith and both have already had an impact. Pittsburgh is only one game behind the Chiefs for the No. 1 seed in the AFC and they play the Chiefs on Christmas Day.

Falling: New York Jets

Stick a fork in the Jets, they are done. While there was some optimism that the weak AFC wildcard field left the door open for the Jets as a sneaky +20000 play last week, that door is now closed.

After New York's gross loss to the Colts last week they fell to +50000 to win the Super Bowl and only seven teams have worse odds than them. Jets fans have to be used to this by now, but, "Maybe next year."

Super Bowl 2025 Odds Best Bet: Cardinals (+6000)

We put the Cardinals in this section last week at +5000 and the odds have ballooned to +6000 despite the Cardinals having a bye week and not playing a game since then. Obviously, if I liked the Cardinals at +5000, then I like them at the even juicier price.

The Cardinals sit atop the NFC West standings which means if they hold on they'll get a home playoff game. Can any Defensive Coordinator in the league really say that they'd like to face Kyler Murray in the playoffs with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line?

The Cardinals' offense has scored 28+ points in three straight games and their defense has allowed 15 total points in their last two contests.

Arizona still has the Patriots, Panthers and two games vs. Seattle on their schedule so a friendly schedule down the stretch will help their playoff push.

Exact Super Bowl Matchup Odds

We've got Super Bowl 59 exact matchup odds out, and the top teams are exactly where you think they'd be. If I'm looking for some value off the board, I don't hate a Texans vs Lions Super Bowl bet at +2800.

Making A Betting Strategy For Super Bowl 59

Crafting a winning Super Bowl betting strategy begins long before the first kickoff of the regular season. Assessing offseason changes, coaching adjustments, and previous performances are crucial factors.

You're likely to get the best betting value on a team if you place a bet before the season, but there are times in the regular season and even playoffs when you can still place a smart bet. Keep an eye on the odds, as they fluctuate throughout the year due to injuries, trades, and team performance. Acting swiftly when you spot favorable odds ensures maximizing potential winnings, as odds can shift dramatically over time at NFL sportsbooks.

The general key to crafting a betting strategy for Super Bowl odds is comparing a team's likelihood of winning in your mind to where they are on the odds board. Finding a team much more likely to win than the odds indicate is the smartest bet you can make. This strategy holds true for most futures odds, including NFL award odds.

Last 10 Super Bowl Champions

The Kansas City Chiefs have been a powerhouse lately, winning three of the last five Super Bowls. Led by coach Andy Reid and QB Patrick Mahomes, you can expect the Chiefs at the top of these odds as long as they're around.

The biggest recent Super Bowl underdog was the 2017 Eagles, who beat Brady’s Patriots in the final. They even did so after their No. 1 QB, Carson Wentz, went down with an injury late in the season. Backup Nick Foles took over under center and earned Super Bowl MVP honors to deliver great preseason odds value to Philly’s Super Bowl 52 bettors.

NFL Teams with the Most Super Bowls

The Steelers and Patriots dominate the history of the Super Bowl. They’ve appeared in 19 of the 57 Super Bowls, winning six each. There is some decent NFL parity, though, with 20 teams claiming a title all-time.

NFL Teams that have never won a Super Bowl

The 12 teams that have never won a Super Bowl are:

  • Buffalo Bills (four Super Bowl appearances)
  • Minnesota Vikings (4)
  • Atlanta Falcons (2)
  • Carolina Panthers (2)
  • Cincinnati Bengals (2)
  • Arizona Cardinals (1)
  • Tennessee Titans (1)
  • Los Angeles Chargers (1)
  • Cleveland Browns (0)
  • Detroit Lions (0)
  • Jacksonville Jaguars (0)
  • Houston Texans (0)
