Exclusive Interview with Annamaria Anastasi (Betsoft Gaming)

Hi! My name is Annamaria Anastasi and I work as Marketing Director for Betsoft Gaming. I’ve graduated with an Msc in Creative Advertising and Marketing at Napier University in Edinburgh. I have worked in the iGaming industry for 11 years now for both operators and Game providers in various areas of the business – predominantly in content management and marketing.

I have been working with Betsoft for almost 5 years now. I started off as an account manager and moved into marketing as the company continued to grow and expand. It is a great company with some incredibly talented people on our team. I love our product and believe in the Betsoft brand which is why I have been with the company for so long.

That sounds quite impressive! Could you tell our readers, how did your Company achieved the nowadays level?

Betsoft has been around for some time now. Our first Videoslot in Slots3TM series of cinematic games was released in 2010. We were also one of the first to pick up on the mobile gaming trend and released our first Mobile game in 2011.

We have held a license with the Malta Gaming Authority for 5 years now and our games and RNG are independently certified in over 10 regulated jurisdictions – this should give players peace of mind.

In 2016 we launched our SHIFTTM platform which allowed our creative teams to lead the industry in building games in HTML5 to a single, global standard across desktop and mobile operating systems and browsers.

Today, every new Betsoft game is cross-platform, developed with a MobileFirst mind-set, delivering the complete desktop experience on the go, with no compromises. Many of our latest games also include in-house innovations like feature-buy-in, persistent trails, shared jackpots and more.

What are the main principles of game development in Betsoft and what are the attainments of your brand?

2018 was a big year for Betsoft overall. About a year ago, we started work on a milestone project with the explicit aim of creating a new kind of experience – one that would bridge the divide that’s traditionally existed between casino games, mobile and console videogames – Max Quest: Wrath of Ra

This is the first in a planned series of revolutionary experiences, turning the reels and royal symbols of traditional slots into an all-action, interactive shooting experience. Max Quest: Wrath of Ra takes parties of players to an underground labyrinth beneath the sands of Egypt, where they cooperate to destroy waves of reanimated mummies, collect loot for their personal trophy cabinets, and compete for pole position on seasonal leader boards. Complete with quests, achievements, and experience points, Max Quest: Wrath of Ra is a preview of a new generation of iGaming.

What helps Betsoft games to become hits from your point of view?

We research our player base heavily including general market trends before and throughout production of any slot. Every Betsoft game is designed with players in mind. We are constantly adding features and social elements to keep our content current, unique, engaging and most of all fun for players across various demographics.

I believe that Betsoft games are extremely exciting and engaging games to play – there is always entertainment value with every release. Name your personal favourite among the fresh releases. What does make it so special?

My personal favourite production would have to be Stampede. I love the artwork and the music on this slot but it also has some really great features that players should be aware of.

Firstly, it pays all ways (not a common feature across slot games) offering players 1,024 ways to win. But there’s a lot more to it. The top value Elephant symbols dominate the reels, and when they Stampede the players win big! With the addition of x3 Wilds in Free Spins, there are some truly massive wins to excite players here. Stampede is really fascinating, I have no doubt that it will gain popularity among the players too! And what is the best performing title among your product range?

It is very difficult to say that one game is a best performer across all markets as generally speaking we do see a difference from one region to another. But overall I think a classic favourite across the globe is Sugar Pop. More recently, Chillipop has also gained a lot of popularity. It is a cluster-based, cascading slot game which also has an expanding grid offering explosive new ways to win.

Please, tell us more about Betsoft Gaming’s fresh and upcoming releases.

This Month we released Fruitbat Crazy which is a more traditional, simple cascading game with a twist. Clusters of low-value symbols always pop first, allowing higher-paying stacks to mount up before splattering them in one big explosion. Unlike other cascading slots, Fruitbat Crazy’s roster of symbols also collapse on a combo-by-combo basis, with smaller wins resolving before triggering their own collapses – creating the chance for some seriously big payouts. It also contains the signature feature-buy-in mechanic, allowing players to trigger free falls at any time – and a special symbol can reduce the cost of buy-in to zero if enough appear at once.

Betsoft release a new game every month and over the next three months we have some really exciting titles lined up with varying themes and features. We’ll be taking our players on a Viking Voyage in April, working alongside Superheroes with Spinfinity Man in May and living the cowboy life in Gold Canyon this June!
