Monopoly is among the most popular and cherished board games ever created, and IGT has brought the favourite pastime activity of a million homes to casino floors with many unique variations. Like the board game, players are guaranteed loads of fun with the Monopoly slot machines. What makes the slot machines more appealing and intriguing than the board game is the fact that players can win real money in casinos, and take it home instead of returning it to the dealer at the end of a rollicking time!

Unlike most other slot games, Monopoly comes with different variations. Some of them include Movers & Shakers, Once Around, Advance to Boardwalk, Monopoly Plus, Here and Now, Pass Go and Chairman of the Board, among others.

Design of Monopoly Slots

Considering the widespread popularity of Monopoly as a board game, people across the world are quite familiar with what to expect from it. Slots lovers will realize that there aren’t many differences between the design of a traditional Monopoly board and IGT’s slot machines. On your screen, you can see the standard square board consisting properties and elements synonymous with the board game. However, IGT’s innovation has always sprung up a surprise, and as such, the animations and graphics in the Monopoly slot game are truly wonderful. Despite bearing a classic look, the slot machine is attractive, to say the least, owing to crisp visuals and vibrant colours.

Mystery Wild Bonus

Similar to the Monopoly board game which comes with several different nuances, the slot machine also treats players to an unpredictable and fun time while offering an opportunity to bag cash prizes. Monopoly Plus is one of the variations that are highly reminiscent of the legendary game. There are no wild icons in this variation. Instead, a Mystery Wild Bonus is activated randomly. This bonus is triggered when a player cannot land on one of the Board Bonus, or Logo symbols on any of the reels. As a result, Mr Monopoly can be seen onscreen as he jumps from reel to reel until a wild symbol is chosen. Winning combinations are easier to form when Mr Monopoly has chosen a wild symbol. However, Mr Monopoly could continue jumping from reel to reel, thus turning all of them wild and opening up the door to potentially huge wins.

Board Bonus Feature

Board Bonus is one of the most engaging and detailed features in the Monopoly slot game. It can be activated if you land three Board Bonus icons on the first, the third, and the fifth reels. If you’re lucky, then you will have to choose one to reveal the number of rolls you win. Upon choosing a symbol, you must hit the “Roll” button, thereby beginning your journey at GO on the Monopoly board.

Bonus Features

The Monopoly slots game delivers rewards that are very closely indicative of the board game, provided that players get lucky.

Property Bonus – Should players land on any property space on the board, their reward will be a small slot machine that can be used to win additional rolls or cash. If you’re familiar with Monopoly, you will know that it’s not uncommon for players to land on several properties during their journey through the game. Each time a player lands on a property, the mini slot increases the rewards, making them bigger as well as better.

Utility Bonus – The Utility Bonus allows players to roll a special utility dice. This dice consists of its own unique prizes which are revealed based on the result of the roll.

Community Chest Bonus – As in the board game, players will receive a card whenever they land on a deck. However, the board game levies punishments, while the slots game presents you with rewards as well. Your mover can be moved to property spots, utility spots, or the GO square. You can also win awards in the form of a cash prize or additional rolls.

Railroad Bonus – If you get the railroad bonus, you will be pushed to the next railroad and will also receive a free roll.

Go To Jail – If you land on the ‘Go To Jail’ square, you will be impeded from claiming the GO Bonus as you will be pushed to the Jail Bonus.

Jail Bonus – If you roll three doubles consecutively, you can activate the Jail Bonus, unless you land on it directly from the “Go To Jail” square. The Jail Bonus provides you with three attempts in which you must roll a double to leave jail. You will be rewarded if you’re successful. However, if you’re not so lucky, the Board Bonus feature will resume from the Jail square.

Free Parking Bonus – One free roll is awarded if you land on a Free Parking square.

Income Tax, Just Visiting, Super Tax – These are the three squares that do not reward players at all!

GO Bonus – The GO Bonus is arguably the biggest feature in Monopoly slots. If you land here, you will receive a cash prize which is essentially 200 times your initial wager, offering you the chance to bag a potentially massive win.

The History of Monopoly

Monopoly is a popular board game originating from the United States of America. Parker Brothers were the initial publishers, subtitling it – “The Fast-Dealing Property Trading Game.”

Monopoly, in economic terms, refers a single entity dominating a market, and the board game applies the same concept as players start the game and proceed to purchase, trade, or develop their properties by building hotels and houses. Rents can be collected from opponents to increase your bankroll. Fake currency notes are used to keep track of players’ earnings. The addition of cards and several other interesting details makes Monopoly one of the most enjoyable pastime activities for families and friends. The ultimate goal of the game is to make your opponents bankrupt before rolling the dice to retirement.

It takes less than ten minutes to set up the board, and while some versions allows two to six players to participate, others can be played between two and twelve players. Playing time can range anywhere between one and four hours on average. This dice rolling, card drawing game requires skills such as strategic planning, resource management and negotiation, which is why many youngsters are encouraged to play it and learn a thing or two about effective management of finances whilst having their share of fun.
