Red, White and Blue

Red White and Blue Slots

With so many manufacturers making so many slot machine titles every year, it’s hard for new games to stand out from the pack. But over the many decades that slots have been the most popular games in the world, a few machines have become iconic enough to leave a lasting (and continuing) impression on the gaming community.

One of these games is Red White and Blue, a machine created by IGT. Available in IGT casinos around the world, this is one of the most popular slots ever created, probably owing to its universal, basic appeal that makes it both easy to play and very satisfying for casual players.

Red White and Blue Online Alternatives

The original Red White and Blue isn’t available for online play. However, the popularity of the machine has led to plenty of imitators, many of which are very similar to the original. If you want to try something like this classic at an online casino, you can try a few of these options:

  • Liberty 7’s (WGS)

All of these games, and many more, derive their inspiration from IGT’s classic machine. Even if you generally prefer more complex slots, you might find that these games are worth a play: after all, this formula has proven immensely successful, and players come back to games like these ones time and time again.

Nothing but the Basics

When you sit down to play a game of Red White and Blue, you will know exactly what you’re getting yourself into. This is a three-reel game with a single payline, and the player has the option of putting in anywhere from one to three coins. As in many games of this type, it typically makes sense to play the full three coins, as there are premiums on the top payouts if you do so.

The object of the game is to match three identical or similar symbols on the same payline in order to win a prize. There are only two kinds of symbols on the reels: sevens and bars. In both cases, these come in red, white, and blue forms. Players will not only be awarded prizes for perfect matches, but also for matches of the same symbol type or the same color. The basic pay table (when played for one coin) usually looks something like this:

  • Three Blanks: 1 coin
  • Any Three Blue Symbols: 2
  • Any Three White Symbols: 2
  • Any Three Red Symbols: 2
  • Any Three Bars: 5
  • Three Single Bars (Red): 10
  • Any Symbols in Red, White, Blue order: 20
  • Three Double Bars (White): 25
  • Three Triple Bars (Blue): 40
  • Single, Double, and Triple Bar in Order: 50
  • Any Three Sevens: 80
  • Three Blue Sevens: 150
  • Three White Sevens: 200
  • Three Red Sevens: 1,200
  • Red Seven, White Seven, and Blue Seven in Order: 2,400

In most cases, the prizes are multiplied by the number of coins you have played on that spin. As we noted earlier, though, the top prizes usually award larger prizes when you bet max coins; for instance, the jackpot amount might increase to 10,000 coins if you played for three, which is a significantly better payout than when playing for just one or two.

Variations on a Theme

This is a very simple game to play, and it hits all of the bases that a non-gambler would expect to see in a slot machine: three reels filled with some of the most traditional symbols you can find. It’s not surprising, then, that the game has been heavily requested by casino and club owners around the world. And given that level of popularity, it’s even less surprising to find that IGT has come out with variations on the theme in order to offer a few different versions of this game.

For instance, one of the latest popular incarnations of this machine is Triple Double Red White and Blue. In this version, two additional symbols are added: a “double” and a “triple,” both of which act as wild symbols. When they appear, the wilds also multiply your winnings by 2x or 3x, depending on which one you find on the reels. Hit multiple wilds, and the multipliers stack; hit three in a row, and you’ll win the machine’s biggest prize. Coincidentally, they also have both "Double Red White and Blue" and "Triple Red White and Blue" variations too.
